Sat 30 Oct 10 (AM)

Went out with the Camden bike shop on a fat tire ride commencing @ the boat ramp in Woodbine. I rode out there from St Marys and joined the ride. We went over the bridge, hit a rail to trail section or two following it up past White Oak (the next town up). After making our way back south we tried a little spur road that dropped down to the Satilla River (used to be the rail bed). It was a quad BUSTER (loose gravel about 6" deep). Umm yeah. Then more trail south of town. Got back on 17 n headed back to St Marys. I think I logged 53 miles. Yeah, that was a workout!

1:26 hour 10 mile AM run on base. 68F n muggy. Legs felt OK. Half moon overhead n lightning on the horizon. Pretty cool.

1 hour swim @ SC. Felt a bit tired. Used under shirt under wet suit. Made it a bit difficult to get the rear zipper up but at long last I did. Need to try under arm body glide (chafing in upper torso). Banana pre (kool aid)

Jax USMC Half Marathon 2 Oct 10

I love race day. All the training runs are in the past, the rest period is over, and expectations and energy are high. The energy & vibe is incredible! This race starts @ 7 AM which is a nice time. Should be nice and cool throughout. Love it! I plan to do this for many many years to come!
